Depending on the condition of the truck when it returns from Alaska and the condition of my wallet over the coming months, I could be interested. Esp. if it's in really good condition. Though, as a 'mog newbie, and a Diesel newbie, I've got a lot I would have to bone up on between then and now in order to be able to make a proper determination.
One thing about the Unimog community is that they are extremely helpful, and you don't get any of the macho, competitive attitude that happens with some off-roading groups. You'll find lots of people willing to help with the Mog part, and some of us are pretty knowledgeable about the camper part, too.
If you have a question come up, just post it and we'll get you an answer. You can also send private messages to me or other Mog camper owners--just check out some of the topics in the "Unimog and MB Truck" forum to identify who we are--and I'm pretty sure any of us would be glad to talk to you by phone to answer any of your questions.
It'd also be worthwhile to join onto the Unimog Mail List at:
http://tx4x4.com/mailman/listinfo/mog_tx4x4.com,
which will get you access to a good group of very experienced Moggers who'd welcome your questions.
And depending where you are, think about making plans to go to Sheridan, Oregon (about an hour southwest of Portland) the third weekend in August for the annual Northwest Mogfest. Mogs of every shape, size and purpose, along with guys who can answer every question you could possibly think of.

As for this particular 416 camper, I imagine the sense of the group is that it's old school German, somewhat dated and a little cramped in exchange for being nice and short, and that it's the real deal at a reasonable asking price. There's certainly much that would have to be checked over--and we can probably get you help doing that if you want it--but I don't think anyone would discourage you from giving it more thought.
