Expedition ZJ project

I am the owner of a 95 Jeep ZJ 5.2 and I am becoming more and more interested in turning it into an Expedition vehicle. I am pretty much a newbie when it comes to offroading and wanted to get some advice on where to begin and whats necessary and whats no from some experienced people.

I would start with a 2" budget boost (spring spacers), throw on some 31" BFG's, install some front sway bar disconnects, and your off. You wont do any insane rock crawling, but you will get around pretty well in the back roads.

My end goal is to be able to travel off the beaten path and get over any obstacles that may present themselves. I don't intend to do any hardcore rock crawling but I would like to do something like the Rubicon. I would say my budget would be around $3000. It is also my daily driver and what I use to tow my boat.

Smksignals has it right if you want a road and trail worthy rig. Mine are 31" Grabber ATs, but I love it.
