So you'd rather not go there because you can't carry? wow.

Does it occur to you that you don't need to carry in Canada?

There's no such thing as a place you don't need to carry. There's only places you're not legally allowed to carry. I'd take the ferry as well.

I'd sell the Jeep and fly to Cape Town. Buy a Land Rover and head north. You won't have the time and energy to explore Africa when you're older.

This^^^^
But, as much as I love Land Rovers, I'd use a Cruiser. Nah....maybe I'd still use a LR :sombrero:I'm still a sucker for my old 110Tdi.
But I think $125k will get you a lot more than just Africa. I may go through Africa, then Arab Peninsula then on through Asia. Ship it to Australia and tool around there for a long time. Come back home out of cash, but with a suntan and lots of stories.

I'd start out by heading west, then drop down through CO, hit AZ and UT, continue north into northern CA, OR and WA.

Grab a ferry up into AK, and spend some time there, before dropping back into the lower 48.

If I still had some cash left (and most likely would) then I would hit up the north east area, avoiding NY and NJ and any other 'Non Citizen Carry' friendly states.

With that much cash, I could easily spend 3+ years traveling around!

Well buddy you better check before you travel, because its a whole lot more than NY and NJ that don't honor your CC permit (assuming you hold it in MN) Fully 23 states, do not honor your cc permit. That's only 6 more states than NJ... Yes NJ issues cc permits. Now ask how to get them.

Personally, I'd start at the top and work my way down. Alaska to Tierra Del Fuego. Fly fishing for trout every inch I could. To the previous poster who said he'd fish everywhere theres trout, book a ferry to Hawaii. Yes Hawaii.
