Heidi, thats in the BLM land to the north of the Park correct? That connects to Old Dale Road in JTNP?

Nice trail report guys! Is it possible to have a hard or a soft copy of the roads and trails you ran? If so, I'd love to file it for a future run.

Thanks

Way cool looking trip. The pictures were great. I'll have to say though, those cholla garden ones give me the shivers. :yikes: Sad to hear that the area is being trashed by idiots.

Day one, we tried to come in the south side of the park through Thermal Canyon Road, however failed to get to the entrance due to the trail conditions off of Pinto Basin Road. From there we headed to the Cottonwood visitor center (they dont take credit cards so bring cash) and took Pinkham Canyon Rd to Thermal Canyon on back into the park through Pinto Basin. We then camped at the rangers recomended camp (Jumbo Rocks) and hit Keys View, and headed back up barker dam on the paved roads. We then took Queen Valley Rd to the Geology Rd tour (get a map guide at the trail entrance). And took Berdoo Canyon road out of the park.

The BLM land to the south of the park was trashed and with out some cleanup efforts and some good trail ethics, I would not expect this route to be open much longer, and would advise to talk to the ranger station prior to planning an exit this route.

Hope that helps a bit. We just basically looked at the map and figured it out as we went. Its a bit more fun that way!
