Extreme Camping?

Thank You,
I do not have a special sleeping bag but am considering 12V heating blanket for the next trip. The trick for us was to heat up the tent (coleman blackcat ) before going in the sack, and sleep with our thermo-clothes on. I cant say we were extremely comfortable, but it was fine.
As for the MTR's, Once I lowered them to 7 psi I was extremely pleased with the snow performance. Had absolutely no issues on uphills towing my trailer behind. But the trick is 7psi. Huge difference from normal offroad 15psi.

Terrific photos. Did the ARB keep things from freezing?

Thanks,
Didnt even bring the ARB along this time. I knew it was going to be cold, left it behind. That makes me think though, my veggies got frozen, wondering had I put them in the ARB, would they still freeze?

Great photos. Your experience reminds me of a question I wanted to ask the forum. How safe is it to pull M416/M101 in snow/icey conditions. Do you have trailer brakes? Like you I have a JK to tow with just have never dealt with trailer in snowy conditions as I am from Texas but currently find myself in Ohio. I do not have brakes on trailer other than handbrake. I have a fear of down hill grades with trailer pushing jeep on down hill grades with slick spots. Tell me what you can please. Thanks.

Towing a trailer in winter is not that much of a deal if you have good winter tires on the tow vehicule and you consider the extra weight for the braking distance. Never tried it with brakes on the trailers, but without, I simply never worried about it unless the trailer was realy heavy!

But again, you have to think ahead and keep you distance from the vehicules in front of you to have a greater reaction time!

Nice pics! I don't mind some snow camping, but -15 might be a bit cold for sleeping. I've been skiing in -15, but can't imagine being still and staying warm. What sleeping bags did you have? I don't think I've seen one rated that low before.

Lucky you had an 80 proof liquid around, anything less would have probably frozen.

-15c is 5 degrees F to you.....there are quite a few sleeping bags rated for 5F

Awesome, thanks for sharing!

PS-if anyone has a suggested snow camping list, I'd love to see it. I look forward to snow camping in my Autohome Columbus(probably 12V heating blanket will be a good idea) + snowshoeing.
