F150 2.7 Ecoboost

Never thought the day would come. I am now a domestic truck owner, after years of Toyotas only. I was looking at the Tundra's, and although nice quality, I couldn't stomach the abysmal MPG. So looked at GMC, Dodge, etc. and was really impressed with Ford. Ended up with an F150, 2.7L Ecoboost. This thing is a rocket, especially living at elevation here. Fit and finish is nice as well. EPA mileage, as long as I keep the RPM's down (18/23). They really built a nice truck.

Looking to get a very mild lift and +1 tires (33's most likely). That should do me good for a while, except figuring out the bed situation to get it fit for camping ventures (rack, or shell???).

The new models have a nifty button that allows you to switch between driving/ECU modes that allow for more power or better economy, the power mode is just nuts.

Bought last month, and they did have some nice incentives. Ended up $12k off MSRP, which I thought was good. That was without really negotiating, but didn't want the hassle of sitting there for hours while the sales guy runs back and forth from the manager's office. Time is too valuable for that. But Ford's been good to deal with so far. Hope that still holds true if/when I get to go through any warranty issues.

I will say if I were single with no kids, I would have opted for a new Tacoma. Although the F150 would have still been a contender with better MPG and power.

You shouldn't ever need the warranty, my brother has a 2012 model that has been very good to him and my brother in law had a 2013 and now a 2016 model that have never seen anything more than oil changes and changing the engine and cabin air filters, that eco-boost motor is pretty dang awesome.
