F150 XLT 3.5l Ecoboost SOLD

2012 F150 XLT 3.5l EcoBoost with 124,000 miles. Time to sell the ole gal in preparations for full time travel! 2022 F350 Tremor imbound! Asking $SOLD

I bought this truck from my Grandmother in 2015 with 28,000 miles on it. It was my Grandfathers truck prior, I've known this truck since it was brand new, and myself or our local Ford dealership has done all of the work and maintenance on it.

Since purchasing we have put 96,000 epic miles on it. It has mainly been used as a travel vehicle, along with the odd lumber run, as well as bringing both of my kids home from the hospital when they were born. It has seen pretty much every corner of the US. Many of its miles are highway, but there are definitely a few thousand miles of dirt in there.

At 80,000 miles we decided it was time for some real upgrades. The stock truck had been great, but the stock suspension was tired and we wanted to get more remote with our travels. So on went a Leer cap, PowerStop rotors and pads, Bilstein 6112/5160 shock package, add a leaf, General Grabber ATX 275/75r18 tires, and Decked drawer system. This system has been absolutely flawless and has gotten us everywhere we have wanted to go - and a few places a full size had zero business going... My plan for this truck was to be a low key #overlander, which I think we really accomplished. It can cruise at 80mph all day long in quiet comfort, then air down and tackle some pretty rough terrain with minimal driver fatigue.

Because this has been our family travel vehicle, and not wanting any surprises while traveling, we have done our very best to maintain this truck. Records are available either from me or Ford.
- Oil changes every 5,000 miles. This engine HATES dirty oil. Fords recommended 10,000 mile oil change interval has lead to a ton of these truck needing timing chain repairs and turbos. The longest this truck has ever gone between oil changes is 5,000 miles.
-Motorcraft air filters every 10,000. I actually just put in my first non-Ford/Motorcraft air filter in and it felt like a sin.
-Spray in bedliner went in somewhere around 40,000
-Differentials and transfer case fluids changes at 45 and 90,000
-Spark plugs at 45 and 90,000. Only used Motorcraft plugs.
-Coolant flush at 45, 90, and 124,000
-Transmission fluid change and new battery at 90,000
-New heater blower motor somewhere around 80,000
-120,000 miles it got new PowerStop pads and calipers, new drivers side UCA, Morinoto headlights and fog lights, and new belts, air filter
-124,000 water pump and thermostat, new oem lug nuts (crappy sleeved Ford lugnuts were beginning to swell), fresh oil

Now for the bad... On our last trip to AZ we started hearing a weird chirping between 2500 and 3500rpms. Upon getting home it went to our local Ford dealer and they found that it has a couple broken exhaust manifold studs. Super bummer, however it doesnt impact the functionality of the vehicle, just makes a bit of noise between those RPMS. Not loud or obnoxious, but a noticeable chirp from inside the vehicle. Apparently this is super super common on the first gen EcoBoost trucks. I would have immediately said fix it, but they wanted $2500 to fix them, on top of the $1300 I had already spent that day for the waterpump, which was my final push to order my new Tremor F350. In addition to the manifold it has a tiny bit of typical Ford rust starting, a couple scratches and one ding. Nothin major, but being as transparent as possible.

This truck would make a really great intro vehicle into overlanding. It's insane the amount of people who want to try this overland thing and drop $50 $60 $70,000+ on an, "overland," vehicle because the interwebs told them to... Just toss your tent in the back and go have an adventure.

Thanks for reading, thanks for considering. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have. The truck is located in south central Wisconsin.

I will get some detailed pictures of the truck this weekend for post 2.
