I have tried the Back to Black, 303, Armorall and some others and nothing has lasted for long. I appreciate all the responses. I think i am going to try the fusion paint.

Thanks again,
Ed

I did all the flares on my 04' unlimited. I used the krylon fusion black. They looked factory fresh for years until my rig got swiped.

You'll be impressed, for sure. :costumed-smiley-007

We have the same problem in the MINI community and use Black Wow.

We used the Forever Black on our old '98 TJ. Directions caled for 3 coats but I ending up doing 7 coats to get the finish I wanted.

Here's a pic of the TJ the first week we bought it and right before we coated the flares...

And a shot a few months after we applied the Forever Black...

Just got finished with the flares on my 06 TJ. I went with the fusion paint. The satin black came off with a little shine so I ended up using flat blk. They look like new! Now we will see for how long?

my vote is for the krylon fusion,,, easy fix and will last for years if you wipe down the plastic with a cloth just dampened with laquer thinner. That will get the microscopic dirt out of the tiny pores that exist in any plastics. Don't over do it, just a lightly dampened cotton cloth will do the trick......
