Great job capturing those images, really beautiful!
Your pup is cool :sombrero: I know just what you mean re: NPs and dogs - a little over the top restrictive, considering everything. SPs seem to be much more accommodating of furry visitors.
So is Tioga pass still open? Do you happen to know current conditions? I was planning on heading that way from W to E in the next week - thanks.
thanks. She's a pistol, and, at 8 months old, she's driving my wife a little nuts, but she's a great dog. What we need is a grassroots movement to open "just one" major trail in each NP to our furry companions. I'm sure she'd be alright with moving off the Bright Angel Trail at the Grand Canyon so the 15th mule train in the last ten minutes could go by - she's always looking for a "butterfly moment"...
Our understanding from the NP employees in Yosemite is they normally wait until the first big snow storm in November to shut the pass for the season. Our storms have been pretty light so far, and the snow level (except for what fell in Mammoth) seemed as though it was above 10,000 ft. I'd check with Cal DOT for the current info. The first open/closed signs about the passes are down around Minden/Gardnerville on 395, and I haven't been down that way this week.
