Let's try this again. Last week I installed the complete OME suspension, removed the rear sway bar, and mounted the 33x10.50 km2's along with an alignment prior to our little backcountry fishing trip this week. The spot we went into is one we have been to 4 or 5 times prior, so I had some idea for comparison as to how the suspension used to perform. The trail itself is nothing overly difficult and under normal conditions can be driven in 2wd with the occasional scrape, 90% of this 8 mile stretch is simply nonstop softball to basketball sized rocks with the occasional stretch of sand, but I do know several guys who refuse to drive it in a vehicle because it tosses you around to the point your insides hurt. This 8 mile stretch when towing our trailer normally takes about 75-80 minutes, going in and coming back out we drove it in under an hour and even had 2 Jeeps wave us past them, this was with 35psi in all tires. All I can say is the OME setup is worth every penny, it now sits level when loaded up and any sign of sway that was there before is now gone, on road it now handles better when towing our off road trailer than it ever did unloaded with the stock suspension.

How does your Montero do with the elevation in Utah?

Are you still running the 4.27 gears?

It does okay, I plan to pick up the 4.63 gears soon though. I also removed the radiator to have it cleaned and a tiny hole repaired, replaced the fan clutch, and installed a new thermostat so it runs much cooler now. It had the original thermostat still in with the 1997 date stamp, pretty crazy.

Still puts a smile on my face every time we go somewhere, covered about 65 miles of dirt roads and trails elk hunting and never missed a beat.
