Fiji and New Zealand - 6 Weeks!!!

I'm currently on a 6 week adventure through Fiji (1 week) and New Zealand (5 weeks) with my wife, 1 year old son and wife's mother. Everything has gone fantastic and our son is traveling very well. The door to door travel time to fiji was 20 hours and he did great.:wings:
We leave for NZ in 2 days and we'll be spending a total of 3 weeks on the road (broken into 3 sections) and 2 weeks settled in town (broken up between Auckland, Christchurch and Queenstown). We'll all super excited about our little adventure and I'll try to post information and pictures as much as possible.
I searched the site and obtain some great info on NZ, but we're always interested in other travelers advice....so feel free to post any tips for us.:jumping:

Thanks for reading and I'll talk to everyone soon.

What a dream trip.... I'm totally green with envy... like a new shade of green, I'm so envious....

Safe travels to you and your family. Please don't make us all ask for pics.

Went Scuba diving yesterday and surfed today. We're headed to NZ tomorrow morning, hopefully I can post some pics in a day or 2.

Sorry for the previous post. I was on a "paid" internet computer and only had a minute left.
The first part of the trip is over and we're now in Auckland, NZ. Fiji was absolutely beautiful!!!!! The total travel time door to door was 20 hours, but overall not too bad. We spent 6 nights at Plantation Island Resort which is in the Mamanuca Island chain. I picked this resort because it was more affordable than most, very kid friendly, only 50 minute boat ride and close to good surfing and diving. Everything worked out as planned but the food wasn't that great which was a deal breaker for next time (if there is a next time  ). All and all we had a great time and it was a unique way to kick off a 5 week trip through NZ. I'm having a hard time posting pics on my wifes Mac, hopefully I'll have it sorted by tomorrow.

Sweet trip! Something we have on the two year radar.

We need photos to create more envy than we already have :)

Sorry I haven't posted any pics or updates about the trip. I've had limited internet access and I'm having trouble with my wifes Mac.
We're flying home tomorrow and I'll spend the next couple weeks updating the thread with solid info and some great pics.

That comment might rile up the Mac loyalists....

I've been waiting to hear more about this trip. I'll look forward to reading and seeing more when you get home. Safe travels -

I'm settled back in the good old USA and ready to update the thread. I plan to post a couple times a week and follow the route of the trip with info and lots of pics. This first pic is a "tester" to see size and make sure it works correctly.

It's the Air Pacfic 747 we flew from LAX to Nadi, Fiji. The airline was the cheapest I could find, but they were a little unorganized.....for us it's worth saving the money.

Nice pic. I was walking around on the tarmac at Nadi a few months back. They still had a parking spot with "Concorde" painted on the ground. Kinda cool.

when we came out of the plane, it was so humid our camera was fogging up, you can see it in the picture.
