That's not exactly cheap for a 1991 FJ80.

Lockers weren't offered, No FF rear axle, Drum brakes in rear.

The owner took care of the 3FEs lack of power by installing that 5.3L, BUT, he got rid of the bulletproof overdrive tranny, and it looks like he also changed out the t-case.

I gave $500 for my '91 FJ80 that was all original and with a clean title. I think he would have better luck if he dropped his price down to ~$5000.

salvage title and it has a t400 tranny (non OD) and a crappy quadratrac tcase. you can get a VERY nice fj80 for that price with a stock motor and lockers.

engine swap problems?

I would also be scared to deal with bad engine swaps, more so when the owner doesn't know stuff like the miles on the engine swapped in... maybe it's just me.
