Flippac + Solar

So I have been trying to come up with a solar setup to use with the Flippac. What I was thinking was using the unisolar 68 watt panel on top of the actual tent.

At 9' long, the unisolar panel would fit nicely on top. The only problem I have seen is finding a way to attach it. I was thinking of getting marine canvas and sewing the panel to the canvas using something like a marine window like Rainer seen below. I wouldn't be sewing into the actual panel, just the window over the panel to hold it in place. This would allow me to attach grommets to the ends of each side for easy attachment to the top of the tent. My question is will placing this marine type window over the panel affect the the actual operation of it??

I'm not sure if you planning to leave the panel in place? It can't be folded. A plastic cover would reduce output.

I would just use an solid panel that can be removed when the top is flipped. Your design requires the truck be parked with the tent open midday.

No, I wouldnt plan on folding it in. Adding the grommets would allow me to strap it or bungee it to the top when base camped - tent flipped open. I like the idea, because one wouldnt even be able to know it was there, unless viewed from above... versus leaving a foldable panel lying on the hood or wherever have you.
