• We are retirees who bought this van as second owners at the end of 2018 with plans of travelling Australia. We made two 6 week trips in 2019: one to Tasmania and one to outback South Australia. We had planned to leave at the start of March 2020 for a year travelling around Australia but were scuttled by Covid and the world’s longest lockdowns in Melbourne 2020-2021. Now we find our family circumstances have changed complicated by health issues so that we can no longer travel.
• The van is fully set up for outback touring, with 150W rooftop solar plus 100w portable solar, bulbar, snorkel, bash plate, winch, driving lights and recovery equipment. We added a SOG system to the cassette toilet, which means no chemicals are needed and it’s safe to empty into long drop toilets. The van seats and sleeps 4 people, with an east-west permanent bed and a pull-out dinette that converts to another double bed. Creature comforts include shower, toilet, three burner gas cooktop and oven, 140 litre compressor fridge, TV and antenna, CB radio, Sirocco fans, aircon, diesel heater, Hitchgate with second spare tyre and fuel containers.

• Front shock absorbers were replaced in June 2020.
• Wheel alignments were carried out in June 2020 and March 2022.
• Mercedes Benz Takata recall –driver and front passenger airbags were replaced in April 2019
• Mercedes Benz Safety recall RC2895 – rear speed sensors replaced November 2021.

In the habitat, we are aware that the Thule fan only works in one direction but have been waiting for replacement parts to arrive in Australia.
