Hey guys,
So I have a 2003 7.3 E350 with about 250k miles that i will be converting with the Ujoint kit that i have on order.
As the interior is totally stripped out now i want to do as much work as I can on the frame, engine and everything under the body before i start converting the interior.
I had in mind to replace the body mounts and install a temporary 2" body lift to make accessing the engine bay easier, once i am happy with the frame mods, underside paint and engine work then I will drop the body back down and fit out the inside.
Couple of questions;
Once all body mount bolts are undone what else would have to be disconnected or adjusted to life the body up a few inches? If i can keep it drivable that would be ideal if i need to move the van around a bit, not for any kind of extended driving.
With the Ujoint kit I will be removing the fuel tank to shorten it, anything i should look to change or rebuild while the tank is out that might be a hassle later on? Fuel system upgrades?
With the body raised up i want to give the engine a good steam clean then what engine parts should i go through and rebuild or do maintenance on? Injectors and glow plugs work would be the most benefit i'm thinking while the body is up but anything else that is a pain to do with the body down?
What components would you rebuild
Van life is a bit new to me but I have done quite a bit with adventure bikes. Looking to eventually build a moto/camper.
