Depends on what you mean by "do the baja." Is the Raptor a good vehicle for traveling through Baja? Absolutely. That's what it was designed for. Is it a good vehicle to race The Baja on? I'd say it would be a pretty good base for a build, but certainly not something you'd do straight out of the box.

Do I want one?

YES I DO!

In no way meant in disrespect, but this needs 4 real doors and a manual transmission. Ya ya diesel and all that, but 4 doors and stick shift would do it for me.

the first one sold at barrett Jackson for $143,000 a couple months ago. wouldn't it be nice to have so much $$ to be able to buy the first of something for more than 4 times what it will sell for???? that guy will probably keep it in his garage and sell it next year at Barrett...

I care less about manual transmission, but love my four real doors. Especially with a family of 4 (+ 2 dogs who ride in crates in the bed) I'll take all the space I can get. Which is why, as much as I LOVE the Raptor, I'll be sticking with my FX4 SuperCrew for the time being.

one of the features on the raptor is rear shock shields. i thought they were a really good idea. every time they checked them they saw new scraches and dings.

Yep on the 4 doors. The SUV generation is in buying power now and many of us now have families that require cabin space, I think it is disenfranchising of Ford to assume any less, "options" need to come back to the auto industry, not onesy-twosy "packages."
