Found some extra storage space!

My camper is an 8 footer. But my truck bed is 6'6". So the rear most truck bed access door is really outside of the truck bed:

So I made a little shallow box and screwed it over the outside of this opening.

I only made is an inch deep as I wanted access to the wheel well area for a small ladder and other things.

This will be a perfect place to hang tools, tent pegs, and other small-flat items

All painted up and looking pretty!

Nice idea

That's a nice addition. I'm in a simular situation: I have a 98 Tacoma xcab with a 6 foot bed, and my Phoenix "Woody" camper is 7.5 so it fits flush with the end of the open tailgate. I couldn't do exactly the same as you as it fits so tight, that would obscure the brake/turn lamps. have been able to do something roughly simular though. I have "upgraded" my barely functional Dometic 2-way fridge with a Norcold 0040 12v fridge. This new one is the same 21' high, but the width and depth are less (so is the inside, but I like the way it's organized). The outside of the camper has hatches for access to the backside of the old fridge, and I am repurposing the space in the same way. I'd apprecite a photo of your tool organization when you get done. There's bound to be some good ideas!

That's one of the advantages of these wood campers - you can modify them so easily.

I simply added a magnetic tool bar that I bought on sale a Harbor Freight for $3

Holds tools, tent pegs for a tarp etc.
