USAPhotoMaps... and TerraFetcher

I got a Magellan Meridian Platinum in early summer and Bajataco clued me in to USAPhotoMaps. This is truly a great program.

I've used it for wayfinding, route planning, even in-the-field orientation. As a civil engineer, I've found it very handy for work related tasks as well.

Be sure to check out TerreFetcher as well. This program supplements USAPhotoMaps quite nicely. You can set up a closed loop route and TerraFetcher will retrieve all mapdata within that area. This was handy for my summer trip to California. I created a closed loop encompassing southern and central California and let TerraFetcher do the work.

Thanks for pointing everyone to USAPhotoMaps Scott... I need to be more proactive about sharing such info.

Regards,
Joel

Nice program, and free:

Good for route planning and evaluating terrain conditions. Also helpful for validating if topo route is still open.

Thanks for the link! I just downloaded it. Should be fun to play around with.

has anybody been using this program and have any good tips?

I can't figure out how to get rid of downloaded maps that I don't want or how to save them to a disk.:(
