Scored this 5x7 trailer for the great price of... free!
the sides arnt very high but it'll be used mostly for a run around trailer. lugging fire wood, tail clean up days etc.. that will sit level with the patrol.

anyway first pics..

Looks like a very stout trailer. Those springs look like they were designed to carry a couple tons of rock.

Free?? well to start with anyway!! its also registered til march 2009 which is pretty good..

now the wallet can cop it with all the not so free goodies i need to buy!

so keeping with the budget theme i scored these tyres and wheels..

tyres are BFG AT's 235/85 R16 .. the only problem is the offset.
Tyres scrub on the inner wheel arch, i dont want to buy wheel spacers.. to pricey!

i might need to get a longer axle but it seems a shame when the one on there is in good condition! Any sugestions?

Hmmm, maybe its just me, but I'd love to know how you're getting those 6 stud Mitsi rims to go on what looks like a 5 stud hub.................?? Cool trailer though - as mentioned already, has heaps of 'potential'. I'd be mounting springs on top of axle too, something I've done to mine. Not a big job to do, honest. :) ;)

Edit: Sorry, I see you have SOA on jobs to do...........

Well mate, given the photos ya had up - I just had to ask.........:)

The rims you have look like IFS offset. Refit yr tyres to some std 16 inch rims off a 1990's beam axle Hilux or Cruiser - that'll fix the rear clearance problem.........;)

Bit of an update...

Completed the spring over and replaced the 5 stud hubs with 6 studs
removed the old tail gate as it was rusted out and puchased a new one..

I got some cheap wheel spacers (the disc type) but then I scored 2 new 80 series offset rims for $50! they are 16x7" so i could keep the 235/85's. So thats wheel problem fixed!

Next on the plans is to cut off the side bars and guards and replace them with wider guards and jerry holders

cost to date..

New U bolts - $12
New tail gate - $30
Barrel Hinges - $9
Wheels - $50

not so free anymore but hey i was exprecting that.. anyway pics...
