Free-wheeling Hubs for Defender

I am looking for a pair of free-wheeling hubs to fit a 24-spline Land Rover Defender/Discovery. Let me hastily add that I know all the US versions of the coil-sprung Land Rovers are permanent 4WD, so it's a bit of a long shot - I am hoping someone may know of a hub for a different vehicle, with the same axle size and spline-pattern, and with a 5-bolt mounting pattern with Land Rover PCD. (A 24-spline Jeep?)

The Series 3 Land Rovers had the same 24-spline shafts, but a 6-bolt mounting.

TIA,

Michael,

I don't know, but if anyone does it will be Keith at Rover Tracks. See www.rovertracks.com. He has done some amazing stuff with Land Rover drivelines and knows US and aftermarket parts like the back of his hand.

cheers

Good suggestions, I'll try both Maxi-drive and rover-tracks. In the meantime, I have received an email suggesting that an AVM446 might fit - supposedly for a Jeep. I looked at AVM's catalogue, and I see they do a part-time conversion to the Land Rover LT230 'box, including FWHs. I don't want the full kit, though, just the hubs.

I wonder why anyone would want to do a conversion to part-time 4WD? (I want one set for the part-time third axle of a 6x6, and another set for a D90 to allow it to be towed on a dolly with the front wheels off the ground).

P.S. Can a Mod move this thread to the LR section? My apologies, I was originally aiming it at owners of other makes, bt it should be under LR.

Defender FWH

Hi Michael.
Did you find your hubs ?
I know of a kit to convert a LT230 to RWD / part-time 4WD that includes FWH.
I want the other bits but not the FWH; we could be very useful to each other !
I'm guessing you may be sorted by now ?
