Freeman Park, NC - April 07

During spring break thsi year, I am looking for a couple of nights camping on the beach. This park north of Carolina Beach, NC says it has primitive camping... has anyone been there? I have always gone south to the Kure Beach area, but there is no over night camping allowed there. Thanks Jay

Not real sure what part you are talking about. There is the Fort Fisher which is the South side of Carolina Beach/Kure Beach. The North side of Carolina beach is where you can camp on the beach (At least it was when I lived in Wilmington 4 years ago). I think you have to pay a fee and you can camp out there.

My wife and I are moving back to Wilminton from Portland Oregon at the end of May. Let me know when you are going I maybe we can meet up. We will be driving our 94 Landcruiser and 97 LX450 from Oregon to NC. SHould be a fun trip!!

Ft. Fisher

I lived in fayetteville 7 years ago and we always went to Ft. Fisher. Great fishing and peaceful day on the beach. This park north of carolina beach looks like fun, trying to see if anyone had done it, if there was an ocean and sound side like Ft. Fisher. We will be there in April, have fun on the XC trip... sounds great.
