Hi guys,
Unfortunately I damaged the front bumper on my 2011 Silverado 3500HD. Now I was thinking about putting on something more suitable foor Offroad driving because the OEM bumper is quite low and therefore quite exposed and likely to be damaged.
I was looking at something like this:
No winch, no Roo-Bar (they are not allowed here in Switzerland). The seller wrote me the one in the link would weight around 175 lbs / 79 kg.
Now my problem: I rebuild my truck as a camper and like every camper I am challenging with the weight. That said, every kg I ad to my camper is very bad. Does anybody know how much the OEM bumper weights? Any idea where I could get a Bumper similar to the one in that link above but weights less? It should meet the following spcs:
-No winch
-Recovery hooks sturdy enough so the vehicle can be recovered offroad (Vehicle weight around 4800kg) without adding to much weight
-No sharp edges (Edges have to have at least 2.5mm radius), recovery hooks can be covered with a self printed plastic cover.
-No holes bigger than 80mm (not that important, can be covered with a sheet of metall or similar)
-The front of the tires have to be covered so at most 30 degree from the middle of the wheel upwards can be seen (hope you understand what i mean)
-As light as possible (alloy?)
-No holes for lamps / fog lamps needed, but the middle Hole (see the one for the Light-bar in the link above) should be there for cooling and to climb on the truck for servicing/repairs under the hood
