Front Overhang of Roof Rack?

Just saw this in the SEMA article:

That setup is pretty extreme, but I wouldn't mind having a little overhang over the hood of my 80, thus allowing a section of storage behind my hard shell RTT.

Has anyone done that? Cons?

That was is a little extreme. There's a guy with a Chevy 3500 HD crew cab with an FWC pop-up camper. Same set-up as mine. The FWC cabover covers about half of the truck roof. He mounted Yakima bars with half of a Mega Warrior rack to make this roof space usable. Same idea but the poor man's version. He uses it for his Maxtrax and Hi-lift and some other recovery gear.
