I've decided to part with my 1994 YJ in order to focus on slowly building up my 2010 JK daily driver. The tub on the '94 is extremely solid as is the frame, you'll look for a long time to find another one this solid. It's a 2.5 liter manual trans with stock 4.10 gears and approximately 127,000-128,000 miles on the odometer.
Since I purchased it in 2010 I have done the following:
- Purchased and installed a hard top and doors (original flame red half doors are included)
- Purchased and installed new OME 2.5" HD lift kit with new springs, shocks, bushings, steering stabilizer ($950)
- Purchased and installed new custom front and rear bumpers that are raptor lined. ($500)
- Purchased and installed 31x10.50R15 BFG Mud Terrain KM2's with matching spare on new Cragar Soft 8 15x8 wheels. These tires have no more than 300-400 miles on them. (~$1200)
- Purchased and installed a new Die Hard Platinum gel deep cycle battery ($235)
- Purchased and installed an ARB Safari Snorkel with a new 3.5" head ($175)
The good:
All of the electronics, lights, and gauges work perfectly except the fuel gauge is optimistic on the amount of fuel remaining.
The engine runs great, and has no lifter or rod noise.
The bad:
The AX5 transmission lost 5th gear a few weeks ago, most likely the retaining clip fell off the shaft. It may or may not be an easy repair. The transmission will also not shift into reverse, which might be related to the issue with fifth gear. It shifts through 1-4 great with no issues or grinding.
The CDA vacuum motor on the front axle needs to be replaced because one of the vacuum line barbs snapped off. I have a new replacment in the box that comes with the jeep. I may swap the battery with the OEM one in my 2010 sport too. The windshield frame has a rust spot on the bottom passenger side and the windshield has a crack. Nothing major but I wanted to note it.
Aside from those couple issues this is a great jeep with a ton of potential.
Note that the winch and Hella lights pictured are not included in the sale. Also note that the jeep was loaded up for a trip north to deer camp so it's sitting lower in the rear than it normally does. Please email with any questions or call me at 616-three zero eight-zero one two zero.
I will accept $4000 (firm) cash for the jeep, no paypal etcetera unless you cover the paypal fees. The jeep must be picked up by the buyer, I'm not working with shipping at this price. Thanks for looking!
