Unfortunately need to sell my 2009 Suzuki Equator. This was going to be my “forever truck” but I need something with a longer bed for work. This truck has a 5’ bed. Stinks, but that’s the way it is. A little background on this make/model if you are not familiar. Suzuki had Nissan produce trucks for them for a few years, but did not have an original design. What they did was take the already popular Nissan Frontier and put Suzuki badges on the tailgate, grill, and steering wheel. Other than that this truck is 100% identical to a Nissan Frontier with the Pro-4X package. I truly mean identical, made in the same factory by the same guys with the same exact parts. Only thing that makes this truck different is the logo, I think that adds a bit of a “cool” unique factor personally. The one downside of these trucks is that they can have the transmission fluid mix with radiator coolant if you leave the stock radiator in, but I switched it to a high performance aluminium radiator so this is not an issue. This defect is called the Strawberry Milkshake of Death (SMOD) if you are not aware of it and want to give it a google. Won’t be an issue ever with this truck.
Overall this truck is in great condition (please forgive the fact that it needs a bath in the attached photos). Clean Colorado title and registration. Everything works as it should, 4x4, rear locking differential, A/C, windows, bluetooth, radio, heat, ect. This is an off road vehicle but I only used it on the highway, previous owner was very kind to it as well. I did just put about $4,000 into this truck replacing the tires, radiator, drive shaft, brakes, rotors, fluids, battery, and adding bed rack/ softopper. The Softopper/ Bed rack combo is amazing, you can have a covered bed when you want it and then an open one 5 minutes later. Rack allows you to put things longer than 5 feet on top as well. This thing is ready to go for the long haul, shouldn't need anything but routine maintenance.
If you are considering getting a Toyota Tacoma, Jeep, or a Frontier I highly suggest you reconsider and look at this instead. You get much more bang for your buck. More torque, better brakes, no frame rust problems. This is the perfect truck for house projects, weekend camping trips and everything in between. It also has the ability to have the “titan swap” done to it, which would make it into an off road machine for not too much money. If you are not familiar with this I suggest giving it a quick google as well. Will put any Tacoma to shame for ¼ of the price. That was my plan for this truck and I suggest the new buyer consider it.
I need the money from this truck to get one with a longer bed, so I am trying to move it quickly. Feel free to make an offer, but I won’t respond to total low-ball offers. Please let me know if you have any questions!
The Good:
Low miles
Off road package (skid plates, rear e-locker, Bilstein 5100)
Clean interior
Luxury interior package (sound system, seats, moonroof)
Adjustable bed rack (plan was to put a roof top tent there)
Softopper (grey, like new condition can provide pictures if needed)
New tires (less than 8,000 mi.)
New rear drive shaft (less than 1,00 mi.)
New brake pads and rotors (8 pads, 4 rotors)
Tow hitch w/ electrical
Rust free
It’s a Suzuki truck and that’s pretty cool
The Bad:
Few minor cosmetic dings/scratches on the outside
Slight wear on driver’s seat
Paint peel on corner of hood, common with trucks of this year
It’s a Suzuki truck and you will have to explain that to everyone when they ask what you drive
