Time to move on from my ‘18 Discovery TD6. Here’s the short story. Engine failure (snapped crankshaft) about 8 mos ago. Had Platinum Motorsports in LaGrange KY source and put in a replacement motor that came out of Texas. After about 10k miles that one seems to have run out of oil without warning until the very last minute. I had one long tow with 6,000lbs behind and wasn't checking oil during the trip (my fault). Believe this was the primary culprit, but have just parked it since that incident as the engine is not cooperating at this point. I have maintained this vehicle religiously and have a ton of upgrades on it that I will list below. If someone wants to take this on as a rebuild, it’s an excellent platform, I'm just not prepared to invest more time or money.
All overland mods done professionally by Southern Overland in NC. List includes:
- Lucky 8 hidden winch bumper with Warn Evo 10s
- Triple R integrated grille lights
- Single ARB compressor in engine bay
- Integrated Andersen plug at rear hitch
- Front runner full roof rack with light bar
- Proud Rhino rock sliders
- Proud Rhino bash plate
- SPOD installed and controlling compressor, light bar, and grille lights
- Midland GMRS radio permanently mounted with extended range antenna
- Johnson lift rods (1.5”)
- ~32” BFG K02 (Have a 5th factory wheel finished the same which is included as a spare)
- RedArc electric tow controller
- DEF deleted at install of replacement motor
Replacement motor has 19k miles on it when installed so now ~30k miles. Chassis has 92k miles. Vehicle has been maintained consistently and all receipts in hand for maintenance and upgrades. Upgrades alone were $10k+
Considering non running condition, looking to get $8500 out of this…such that even if someone wants to do a full motor replacement, should still be about on par with total vehicle value.
***IKamper and Rig'd Ultraswing are not included in this price, but Ultraswing could be available to a buyer for an additional $850
