FS: Diesel donor? 81 Mercedes 300d

1981 Mercedes 300d for sale in Tucson. Asking 1,000. 168k, as far as I know, on the 5-cylinder engine. Both engine and transmission seem solid, car overall is solid, just in need of a fair amount of work to make pretty. Carpet is bad, headliner is bad, dash is cracked ... Windows did work, but don't now.

The good of the car though is brand new Kuhmo Solus tires and a brand new battery (about 500 right there).

I had planned to make this my daily driver, but those plans have changed. I have given thought of putting the 5-cylinder diesel into something like a first gen Trooper, but don't have the time, money or inclination, so just want to sell.

wow that is one of the perfect models for running bio diesel or straight veggie oil
is it the turbo model?
auto I assume?

It is automatic, non-turbo and yes, a perfect veggie oil candidate. If I don't sell it before it cools down, I will keep it and fix it up a bit. It has just been too bloody hot to work on cars this summer.
