For Sale: a rare Mountain Hardwear Mountain Wing 2 tent. In excellent, like new condition.
This tent was only made for one year in a limited production run. According to Martin, the designer at Mt Hardwear, fabrication costs and a very high retail limited the marketability. It's an incredible tent, I just have way too many tents in the closet.
The cool attributes of this tent are many-fold. For one, the poles go in the rain fly, not the tent body. The tent body hangs inside the fly. Why you ask? Well, it makes pitching the tent super fast. Thread in the three poles, anchor the tent at the two far ends, and boom. Done. Being a hoop style tent it's solid as any tent can ever be in even the most awful wind.
Secondly, you can pitch the fly and groundsheet alone for a lightweight 4 pound shelter. In total the tent weighs 6.5 pounds.
New this tent was $350.
I'll let it go for $165. It's in mint condition. Not even dirty.
