I have a used AutoHome Maggiolina Grand Tour Hardshell Rooftop Tent (Small) for $500.00 located in Orange County, CA
This is a great solution for someone that wants to get into a quality made rooftop tent without the $4,100+ price tag that the current model retails for.
The exterior of the tent is fiberglass and has seen a lot of use; however, the tent still works great, the mattress, pillows, and coverings are in great condition and have been kept clean, But nonetheless can be replaced. There have been a few repairs to the exterior fiberglass top using an industrial epoxy. The metal edge stripping that is on the top part of the tent has been repaired in a couple of places as well.
The cloth body of the tent both inside and out is in good condition with no tears or holes. The tent is very comfortable and spacious for one person.
Here’s a link to the AutoHome website with their product stats for reference (the unit I’m selling is not their most current iteration; however, there really hasn’t been a lot of changes over the years).
The tent weighs just under 150 lbs.
The bottom exterior footprint of the tent is around 64x83 inches.
The interior bed dimensions are roughly 46x72 inches.
The tent uses screw jacks linked by a chain drive system actuated by using a crank handle. I do not have the original crank handle, but instead have a homemade tool that uses a ratchet to rotate the crank arm and raise/lower the tent (and I will include multiple spares of this tool). Advantages of the screw jack system include: rigidity, long term reliability (no gas struts to fail), and excellent wind resistance. This tent is easily opened by one person vs some four strut tent designs that require two people to close with any kind of ease.
The tent design allows for a lot of head room at the back end of the tent. I was able to leave all of my bedding in the tent without any issues (sleeping pad, sleeping bag, two blankets, and pillows). There is a factory integrated dome light that uses a 12volt plug with a cable long enough to reach into the interior of a vehicle.
I have all the accessories, including a winter cover, gear storage bags, and the original ladder.
PM me if interested.
