Garrett's 99 Tacoma V6 4WD Slow Build and Road Trip/Adventure Thread

Hey guys,
I figured I'd start a build/road trip/adventure thread after looking around reading all the other awesome material this site has to offer. My experience with the whole concept of overlanding is just beginning, as I've only owned my tacoma for a short time. But, in that time I've been doing all that I can to outfit my truck to remain my daily driver, while also being capable of weekend, and maybe some long term overlanding road trips. I'm still very much so in the beginning stages, and haven't gotten into any serious performance modifications so this isn't much of a build thread in its current state. But, if things go to plan that should hopefully be changing in the near future. and I'm excited to have a solid net of resources to help me out and inspire me along the way!

Now onto the truck...
In September of 2015, I bought a 2000 Tacoma, 2.7L 4 cyl, 4wd, manual transmission. It already had some extras including a Fabtech 6 in lift, Pro Comp wheels and tires, Smittybilt winch, and Addicted Offroad front bumper.

My high school self was drawn to the extras for sure, and long story short, I drove that truck for 3 months until some serious undisclosed wiring issues fried the harness and I was left with a useless truck. Over a year in the shop later, the guys at Toy Connection in Santa Clara swapped all the good from my original 2000, onto a 99 3.4L 6 cyl, 4wd, manual tacoma that they had just gotten from a trade. Lucky enough, that truck happened to be white as well. This included swapping the lift, wheels/tires, bumper etc.

If I had known what I had know now, I would've kept the suspension stock to avoid cutting the crossmember. At the time though, I didn't and went with them reinstalling the fabtech lift. Because of being somewhat "stuck" with the drop bracket lift, I'm currently considering different options on upgrading the ride and performance quality. Either new coilovers and leaf springs, or maybe even removing the fabtech and welding in a new crossmember to start from scratch. We'll see eventually but probably not for while.

I have tons of pictures to show, but I'm new to posting and can't seem to get them in here. I go to the attachments icon, but when I upload the pictures they show up like this:

If anyone can help with that it would be much appreciated!

Thanks for checking it all out guys
