Figured I'd ask here, maybe someone has seen a similar problem before:
My 2014 JKUR with automatic transmission has been standing at the local dealer workshop for two weeks now while they are trying to figure out the cause of a noise coming from the gearbox.
It makes a high pitched, almost whistle noise when it shifts gears, only at high RPM above 5500. Under normal driving the transmissions sounds fine and shifts fine, but when it is pushed hard the noise is very noticeable at the moment of shifting. All gears are making that same noise.
This is my second JK with the same engine/gearbox combination, and the 2012 sahara did not make any strange noises at high engine speeds.
