GEN 2.5 (1998-2000) Fog Light Bulb Replacement

I need to replace a burned out fog light bulb in my 1998 Montero. I took a quick look and it does not appear to be easy to get at the bulb. Has anybody done this before and do you have any tips? Thanks in advance!

There are a couple of screws on the housing, takes about 5-10 minutes per side and is pretty easy to do.

Is there a way to remove that inner fender shield like thing behind them or do you need to use a VERY short screwdriver?

I used a ratcheting screwdriver, not easy IMO...

this is such a PITA that I still drive with only one fog and considering to replace the entire assembly with aftermarket something like THIS

Yeah this is a PITA. The little screws are not hardened, and have been exposed the elements since the '90s, so they WILL round out unless you sat on a horseshoe earlier in the day....
