I've been contemplating selling my Montero Sport and moving into a full size Montero. I started searching online just to get an idea of physical dimensions, compare fuel tank sizes etc. and kept coming up with 7.5'' as the ground clearance for a 1999 Montero. That can't be right can it? Does anyone know what the actual listed ground clearance was from the factory or even better MEASURED clearance on your own vehicle?

I have exactly 9'' under the diff on my Montero Sport with 265's and it's never been a limiting factor so I guess it really wouldn't be that big of a deal.
Tirerack lists the stock tire for a 1999 Montero as a 265/70/15 which measures 29.5''. Going to a 33x10.50 (32.7"), which is what I would do, would add 1.6'' under the differential bringing it to 9.1''. Not unacceptable but less than I was hoping for. I just need to stop thinking about the kind of ground clearance Landcruisers have from the factory. Or just realize that I would be paying roughly 1/4 of the price for the same year Montero and suck it up :smiley_drive:
