Gen 3 - C/D Lock Light blinking

So I tried searching here, but couldn't find anyone with this problem. Lately, at least once a day, and usually after sitting cold for a while (overnight or while at work), my C/D lock light will start blinking while I'm driving. It is just the C/D lock light, none of the wheel lights blink. Usually doesn't take very long to start blinking, maybe a minute or so. When I pull over, shut the truck off and start it back up, it doesn't do it anymore. Any idea what it could be? It seems to be driving just fine, and 4Hi (no lock) works just fine. I have yet to try to put it into 4Hi Lock and 4Lo lock yet.

Could be several things, one of the 5 sensors on top the tranny , freewheel clutch, vacuum lines, wheel speed sensor, acuator, or 4wd just needs to exercised by shifting into all gears.

I would shift in and out of all gears and make sure they engage and disengage properly first.

Find the procedure for jumping pins to get the trouble code. Then chase it down. It's trying to tell you one of 187 things, or more, is wrong, and you have to do this to find out what.

I saw one of the codes on there is dissimilar tire diameter. I just got new tires about two weeks ago. The ones that the previouse owner had installed were slightly smaller than stock, so I got four new stock sized tires. I wonder if the computer got used to the old size, and is now thrown off by the slightly larger tires...

Disconnect the battery overnight. Perhaps that will reset the computer.

If not, the dealer may have to clear the codes. Not entirely sure.

The first and easiest check is to examine the condition of the vacuum line to the diff/transfer case. You'll see a line that connects from the intake to a hard line at the firewall that snakes down. Verify that it is connected and in good shape (ie. not leaking). If this line is disconnected you will experience the flashing CD light after a short drive.

So it appears the problem has corrected itself. No idea what the problem was, but it has not happened in about a week now. Wierd.
