Gen2 removing rear window regulator/motor assemblies

Anyone have tips/tricks for this? Was stumped yesterday by a truck, and i need both the assemblies. Removed every bolt i could find, but couldn't find a way to bring the window down to actually remove it from the regulator itself, so i could then start fishing everything else from the door.

There should be 2 access holes to remove the bolts that attach the window to the regulator. Sorry don't remember exactly, but try moving the window 1/2 to 3/4 way down.

Can't move the window in relation to the regulator. Truck does not have a battery, no way to power it. I guess that's my mistake, i should have made it clear that that's the trick i was looking for. :p

Ah that makes sense haha. You can pop off the round metal cover at the motor and remove the cable from the spool. You should now be able to manually move the window up and down. Just be careful as the window may drop at this point. Fair warning though it is a pain to wind the cable back up correctly on the spool if you need it working again. Honestly sounds like too much trouble in my opinion as I would just get new aftermarket units. If you just need the window then you can cut the cable off the regulator and lower it from there.

If you have a spare battery and some wires/connectors laying around you can rig it to the window motor wire harness and it should move it up or down. Reverse the polarity for the other direction. I did this to test an aftermarket unit before I installed it in my rear driver's side door.
