Glowing dash lights

So coming home tonight I noticed battery, A/T temp, and brake idiot lights glowing. They glow at stop light. Go out accelerating through first and second gear then start to glow lightly in the upper gears. Checked the belt tension and battery terminals both seem OK. I'll check alternator with a volt meter in morning just want any more things to check. I'm thinking alternator? Oh it's my 02 gen 3 any other ideas. Thanks guys

Looking for that thing i just had in my hand...
Aftermarket alternator? I had a brand new Bosch that did that.

Sounds to be the alternator. Same thing happened to me in my 4runner running back home from Chattanooga. Needless to say, I didn't make it.

Had the volt meter on it yesterday. 13.6v key off not running. 14.4v idling. Goes up to 15.2 with headlights and fan on then trickles back down. Checked and cleaned terminals and chassis ground at battery. No change. Load tested battery at parts store. They said it was not fully charged. Think I'm going to throw a alternator at it tomorrow see what happens

Your guys nailed it, Alternator. Had the parts guy check it when getting a new one he wasn't ready to condem said it seem to be charging. Anyway 45min later lights are out.

Hmmm.......I was hoping to read it WASN'T your alternator.

I too have the glowing A/T/Battery/Brake phenomenon but it's been happening for the past 2 months now which makes me think it's not the Alternator. I even had it checked at local shop and came back "ok".......

What alternator did you go with ?

If you had the parts guy check it, then it likely wasn't a dealership parts department, and you probably ended up with a cheap reman alternator that will be failing again in 2-3 years. If the alternator that came off your vehicle was the original Mitsubishi alternator I'd go back to the parts store and get it back, then take it to an automotive electrical shop to have it rebuilt. Otherwise you can probably plan on becoming very proficient at replacing the alternator on your vehicle.

Ask me how I know this.
