Go Go Godzilla Swap from 6.0

Started this thread over at sportsmobile forum but thought the group here may want to follow. My 2006 E350 with a buds diesel built and bullet proof 6.0 burned an exhaust valve. Since it’s an engine out fix I’m following my own credo that if this motor ever had to come out it’s not going back in.
I bought a drop out Godzilla motor and 6r140 trans with no miles and the swap begins. 6.0 is coming out today and will get the valve fixed and new head gaskets both sides. It’s an amazing built motor and will be sold to offset. The 7.3 is getting aftermarket lifters and a Texas speed stage 1 truck cam. Engine management will be mars racing controls pack and a Dakota digital custom dash. Here is where we are.

To Infinity and Beyond!
GREAT CHOICE for an engine swap.

The Diesel craze is way overblown in so many ways and this statement comes from a person that owns 3 diesel powered trucks.

Years ago the diesel over gas argument had legs. Not so today.

Today's diesel engines in the light duty segment of the truck market are IMPRESSIVE from a torque and HP standpoint. There is no denying that! However the cost to purchase and cost of ownership of a modern diesel truck/van will make you reconsider that diesel purchase.

Right along with the impressive upgrades to diesel engines are the IMPRESSIVE from a torque and HP standpoint offerings of gasoline powered engines from all the manufacturers. Less cost, less maintenance and diesel engine longevity for the 200K-300K miles you "Might" own that GAS POWERED truck.

That 7.3 Godzilla GAS POWERED ENGINE will far outlast your ownership of that Sportsmobile. Maybe others will See The Light when it comes to powering their new truck/van purchase or repowering their old truck/van for whatever use they might need and go GAS!

My 2001 8.1 liter (496 CI) Chevrolet powered 4WD Quigley built ATF Bomber van now has over 200K miles and gets a solid 12 MPG all the time. That's the same or better than most any diesel powered van gets at a whole lot LESS COST over time with rock solid reliability!

I’m a diesel diehard as well but there just aren’t good options to repower this with a diesel. With the build I’m doing on the motor I think I can pass on hills and curves. :)

Given the maintenance costs of a 6.0 diesel I understand why you're ditching it. I'm thankful I have an "older" 7.3 diesel. It has roughly 250k miles on it, but since I usually only drive it 3-5k a year, I'll not be wearing it out.

That said, the gearhead in me will be following your build even though I'll not be following the same path.

Looking forward to reading your in-depth post. Just passed 30k miles with our Godzilla-powered rig and the best compliment I can give is that it’s completely forgettable! And I mean that in a good way ;-)

Looking forward to more updates! And loving all those cars in the background in your pics as well.
