was chatting with the goal zero guy at costco yesterday and they said they were going to start having the yeti on the road show tours come Nov
he said they will only be carrying two to each road show ? forgot the price %30 off retail I think ?
but kinda cool and a chance to see one :)

Does anyone think the Goal Zero Escape 150 is sufficient to run an ARB fridge overnight? It obviously has less than half the capacity of the Extreme 350 but I am wondering if it will have enough juice to keep the fridge running for awhile. They quote it as 150watt hours or at 12v then 14 amp hours. Since the fridge doesn't cycle much overnight, I am hoping it will work.

If not, I think it may still be worth it to power lights and recharge devices overnight. I can then recharge it via the 12v in the rangie or use the solar panel if I am stationary. For me, we tend to drive and explore every day, so charging via 12v port will probably be used the most.

I will be checking our what the roadshow has tomorrow.

for fun I tried my 350 on a ARB and forgot the exact results but not quite 24 hours ? but might have got 24 if I never opened it or touched it and drained it %100 which I would rather not do :) but also this was inside a house 76 degree test so not outside in warmer temps ?
but might give you a idea of where it would be
so the 150 might get you through a 8 hour or so night depending on temp outside and such :) not sure about recharge time ?

my portable setup is a normal deep cycle 125 amp hours or something ? and it runs it for about 4 days before it needs charging so that way if its not sunny I can skip a few days

dont think the road shows carry the 350 though ?

our 350 is used to keep our phones up and also run a fan and the goal zero lights (4 of them) which are awesome the fan we use is amazing its a boat fan http://www.amazon.com/Fan-Tastic-Ve...UTF8&qid=1363462731&sr=8-5&keywords=boat+vent
amazing fan since it actually can blow air ! nice to keep cool if its a hot AZ day also nice for keeping bugs from landing as much when eating and such ! one of those were not sure when we bought it but love it now purchases :)
the lights are nice to have enough power to actually change the kids and get things ready at night and such and not feel like you are looking into the shadows of your bags trying to find socks for the kids !

They do have the 350 when I checked out the roadshow today as well as two Yetis. It is selling for $299 with the UI which is a great deal. The boulder30 solar panels are selling for $180 which is $50 off retail. The roadshow definitely has the best prices anywhere. The 150 adventure kit is only $250 but I dont think it will be enough juice for me. It is also larger than I expected and I like the compactness of the 350 which has a 33Ahr battery in it. I just hope it can maintain adequate voltage to keep the ARB ru ning but sounds like it worked well for you.

I picked up another light-a-life and the little usb light for now.

I think I will go back and pick up the 350 without the panels for now. I can get an adapter to charge it via a 12v access plug while driving. Later on, I will pick up some GZ panels or another brand as prices keep dropping.

That Yeti is a beast and extremely heavy at 100lbs.

Wow thats cool they started carrying more to the shows :)

I just tested it :)
Should work a short night depending on settings for me was not enough and would not be able to recharge quick enough I figured and cost would rather use it for my lights and fan :) and why I went with the deep cycle route

I just picked up my Extreme 350 with UI and a few more Light-a-lifes. Can't wait to use it next week in Death Valley for an 8 day trip.

I am waiting on purchasing the solar panels as I am not sure I want to use GZ or another brand. I will also be driving everyday on our upcoming trip so I can charge it in the rover and run the ARB and lights at night.

I did purchase the separate 12v adapter from GZ for $15 to be able to charge it while driving.

They have the 350 with inverter for $299. Still sounds like a good deal even though the Yeti 400s are coming out. The rep said the 350 uses the same battery as the 400. Trying to decide!
