Goblin Valley State Park, Utah March 2009

I apologize if my posts are boring...I decided I am not so much of a writer, but I do like to document the trips I enjoy with my family and friends.

We recently had some slate put in our home, as well as tile in the master bath, and they needed to acid wash it and seal it. We were asked to be off of it for at least 12 hrs. We decided to pack up and head south to a fun little outdoor playground known as Goblin Valley.

Along for the trip was my brother Rob and his friend Randall. My friend Dave met us down there with is two sons and another friend Brian.

The park was really busy, but one can easily wander away from most people:

Liv kept picking up rocks on the ground and putting them in her pockets:

Packing up:

We tried to make a quick run of Little Wildhorse Canyon, and found it to be extremely busy...we kept on down to the road to Ding and Dang slots, and they were busy as well. After a little siesta, we hit the road home...

Goblin Valley is very cool! Must be nice to live where the San Rafael Swell is an easy day trip! Not that I'm complaining about living in CO, though...:D

Did you take the paved roads in and out or did you take that little 4wd trail that goes past Molly's Castle and ends up out on Highway 24? Nice little drive, I did it almost exactly a year ago.

We didn't, my brother drives a Honda Pilot, and he was nervous about taking it off the main road to get to our campsite, let alone any other roads.

It was really perfect spring weather, 70+ during the day, and mid 40's at night...

My brother has some photos, and his buddy Randall took some video of Brian playing the guitar and singing...something about an acoustic guitar in southern Utah get me excited...

Happy kids in Utah, excellent. Seems you can't keep Olivia from climbing all over sketchy obstacles, outdoors or indoors. ;)

And Annie went for a ride in the car too? Good for her.

Beautiful family, scenic Utah, tough "Cruiser" and a Columbus. What else does a man need? I'm assuming the Jameson was saved for after hours...

Olivia is a thrillseeker...:Wow1:

Annie rode with my brother in the back of his ride, and she did great. I think she just likes the room that I don't have in the cruiser when all the gear is back there.

Mr. Jameson was indeed along for the ride, he came on the hike with us into the park...he likes goblins.:)
