How would that winch compare to the 10,000lb Garwood PTO-driven winches on the old deuce and a halfs? Mah Deuce weighs 16,000lbs empty, and I'm well over 20,000lbs when loaded and towing a trailer.

I spoke to Tim at Aluminess and got the dims for a pre-2008 Ford van bumper. You have 33" x 9 7/8" x 10.6" clearance within that winch mount. Our PS20000 measures 23" x 7.7" with a clutch that is 9 3/4" high. The clutch would have a tight 1/8" clearance. Our PS12000 might be a better fit. For the PS20000 or PS15000 you would have to relocate the solenoid assembly. The assembly attaches to the winch motor and does not have mounting holes for relocation purposes. An easy fix is using a our P039 solenoid cover with steel mounting plate and P215F plug. We can pre-wire the set up and mount the solenoid on to the plate for you.
