If you're interested in a diesel powered SUV, this looks to be a good time to go shopping for a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Looking around CraigsList tonight, I noticed several 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokees with Mercedes 3.0L diesel engine, Limited trim and 4x4 listed for less than $30,000. That's a big depreciation for a vehicle that had a window sticker of about $42,000 just two model years ago.
Since a lot of CraigsList entries are scams, I turned to AutoTrader and found this gem:
2007 Grand Cherokee Limited diesel, 4x4, 108 miles, $26,000
offered by Jeep dealer in Las Vegas

Very interesting. Instead of a 20 year old Land Cruiser 60 with diesel engine transplant, consider a two year old Jeep!
