Good shop (or friendly driveway :) ) in or near Durango, CO

Heyo, we are an Oregon couple that have been on the road now for 19 days living out of our Discovery 1. We have a few more months to go, and have been dealing with an oil leak needing attention. I have dropped the sump and resealed while in a camp ground yesterday, but it's still leaking from what I think might be the oil cooler o-ring. I have been very mindful about dealing with this issue, environmentally wise, but could really go for a break and just have an honest mechanic potentially take care of it or have a host volunteer a driveway where I could spend the time to really look closer at the issue.

I know this is a strange request, but I thought I'd throw it out there while we are passing through. After Durango, I believe we are heading north to Silverton, CO.

Pardon the brevity, I am using my cell phone...

Thanks in advance for any help!

If you end up in the Grand Junction area I know of a mechanic here that can help.

Its really a pretty easy fix. just unhook the hoses to the oil cooler. and then unhook the plate for oil filter. its just going to be a bit messy until all the oil has run out of the cooler

Just got back into cell range so sorry for the delayed response. I decided to just take care of it at the last camp spot we found. It turns out it is actually the oil filter not sealing properly so we will just deal with it until out trip is over.

When I bought the 4.2 to replace my tired 3.9, the seller seemingly dropped the engine on the filter causing it to be off a bit, and and our current altitude, it has caused it to act up I'm thinking.

Thanks for the replies!

Just replace the oil filter adapter with a new piece and your problem will be fixed. Very easy to do in the field and you can get the part from your favorite Land Rover supplier (Atlantic British, BP Utah, etc).
