Goodbye Defender

This entire thread is way too depressing! :(

I'm optimistic. Tata is pushing Land Rover to broaden the military and NGO sales. They aren't going to water down the capability and lose the utilitarian mainstay markets for just the paved US market.

The H1 is a pretty capable vehicles and it is IFS. While I prefer solid axle, I'll wait and see what they come up with.

Worst case, you know existing Defenders will be restored and kept around as long as the Series I, II and III's. Talk about recycling!

Overlander I agree, I think a full independant vehicle can still be rugged and reliable, it just won't be what we're currently used to. Lets just hope they not only do it right, but that they do it right, and then bring it to North America! :smiley_drive:

Why the hell is this still being debated? The Defender has been gone from the US since 1997 people! Get over it already, it's been 13 years since you could buy a new one.

Because not everyone on ExPo is an American?

Maybe its being debated because in 2037 these people would like to import one legally. :coffeedrink:
