this is a link to govliquidation site, has anyone ever bought anything off of them?

I've only bought one lot from them, and it wasn't a vehicle. Worked out OK, but I learned a few things...

Main thing is to not get caught up in the auction excitement and pay too much. Don't forget that there is a 'buyers premium' tacked onto each sale in addition to taxes and stuff.

You won't be allowed to try to drive it off under it's own power, even if you could somehow get it running, and you won't be able to work on it onsite. So be prepared to provide a flatbed, and consider that in your calculations.

Inspect the truck before the auction so you know exactly what you are getting. Remember that it was probably canibalized by the motor pool before it went to auction.

It requires a EUC, which MAY stipulate that it cannot be exported. In that case, you could run into trouble if you build an overland vehicle out of it and plan to take it outside the US. The EUC may also stipulate that you cannot resell it to a non-resident. I don't know what the chances are you would get caught or fined or whatever should you violate that EUC.

From what I understand, the guys on the Steel Soldiers forum are much more up on buying vehicles from GL.

One further suggestion, when you go check it out, make sure you inspect both of them.

Pick the one you want to build on, or bid on both with the hope you could use one for parts.
