GPS Mounting

I have a Garmin Nuvi 1300, and am looking for ways of mounting it in my Jeep...All I have found are either the vent style mounts, or suction cup mounts..I was hoping to find something a bit more permanent. Just curious to see what you guys have done to mount your GPS units. I might go ahead and try the Suction cup and see if it's strong enough to not fall off while off the highway.

I think you have a ZJ, right? I bought the equivalent of one of these for my XJ:

I also bought an Arkon VSM ball mount for my Nuvi 255 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002ACP2FY) that should arrive this week. If yours has the 17mm ball mount, it should work too. I had to find something else after repeated episodes of the Garmin suction mount failing and dropping the GPS on my knee. This looks like it should work out pretty well.

I purchased a RAM mounting bracket (cradle) for my Nuvi and different balls/mounting adapters for all of my vehicles. For my XJ I bought a flush mount which is bolted to my trim piece just to the right of the radio. I bought a handlebar mount for my Trek bike and another flat ball mount for my KLR. My cradle and arm can go to anything I wish to travel in/on. My next order to whoever has RAM parts will contain another mount for my wife's vehicle.

To do all of my mounts cost me a total of about $35 and it work great...and I don't have suctions falling off of my window as I am trying to look at the GPS...haha!

I highly recommend RAM! Get creative with what they offer. They have a solution for everything.

jeep mounting

what kind of jeep do you have I haven't done this yet but On the grab bar n the passenger side in the 07 and newer wranglers there is a small cover over the screw than bolts on the grab bar it would be pretty simple to utilize that
