Seth,
Garmin offers a lot more mapping options than Lowrance.

Very good point BX, and I thought of mentioning that too, but figured I would be straying too much since he didn't say anything about wanting maps for outside of the country. :smilies27 I should have known better since we are talking about Seth here... so good catch!

Man, all these pros and cons. Although there are several things I like better about the Lowrance unit itself, I think their lack of available software is a bigger issue. I have also read quite a few reviews from people stating that their software isn't very accurate. So, I think the Vista CX with suction cup mount, car charger, mapsource topo, and mapsource city navigator north america it is!

I've got to order it online since I can't find any one local that has it all. I'm going to have it shipped 2 day so I'll have it by Friday (I'm an impatient bastard). Plus, then I can play with it down at Gunsight pass this weekend. That should get me comfortable enough with the unit to take with me to Belize next week for some geocaching! :jumping:

Thanks for all the input guys.

Seth,
GPSCity is in Las Vegas and they ship ups two day pretty cheap. I have always received my order the next day as well since the truck comes down during the evening hours. Very competitive pricing also.

Sweet! Just ordered it from them. $230 for the unit. Quite a bit cheaper than most other places. Thanks BX.
