Nice. R2R the hard way. Thanks for the welcome.MoGas said:Very nice!!! Welcome.
I did a Rim to Rim (S to N) last October. What a great place to be!!!
Thanks. No exploring. The Park Service recommends (forbids? I forget) against mine exploration. I was only too happy to abide.BigAl said:Great pictures! Were you able to check out the mine?

MoGas said:I'm supposed to do a trip this year: Start in the AZ Snowbowl parking lot around 3 AM and climb the Humphrey's Summit of the San Fransisco Peaks and back, then, hop on mountain bikes and cut down Hart Prairie to the Stage Coach trail to the South Rim, then down S. Kaibab trail to Phantom Ranch to spend the night then out Bright Angel in the AM.
It is something my crazy neighbor has been trying to get me to do with his group for the last few years. He did a R2R2R run last weekend.

BLKNBLU said:Yeah, I've thought about that, but not the biking part. That's a neat idea. Unfortunately, I've let my physical condition slip in the past year or two so for now it's not on the map. Plus I'm getting older, and while I can still do some stuff, I don't recover like I used to. I always wanted to do that R2R /Humphrey's summit in a day, but drive between the two. Biking...hmm.
MoGas said:An R2R then a summit would be insane.
BLKNBLU said:But that is part of the allure.
I'm one of the mob down in the Phoenix area, Gilbert to be exact.MoGas said:BLKNBLU, where do you live?
