Explored some back roads and hiking trails on April 1&2, 2011 in the Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument in NW Arizona. A brother-in-law who grew up in the St. George, Utah area guided us in this beautiful place we had never been to before. A beautiful place of Colorado River canyons, lava flows, desert scenery, and old settlements gone by.

We had really good weather with little wind. We got lucky. Down at the river it was probably 85 the afternoon we hiked down. We dipped our hats and shirts in the river to keep cool on the way back up. The desert was extremely dry. Not much moisture this spring and winter. There weren't many flowers in bloom yet when we were there so you should see a lot more blooms hopefully unless the overall dry conditions keeps them down.

That's why you did not come to Moab! Although it was a blast I like your adventure as well. We want to make it down there sometime in the next year.

Beautiful pics Brian!

Yea, that's why we did not come to Moab. Our brother-in-law and his wife ( my wife's sister ) wanted us to come to the St.George, Utah/N. Arizona area and explore and since it was an area new to us we went. That was the weekend they wanted us to come. Very scenic area and well worth the trip if you can get there. Moab would have been fun as well.
