In preparation for the UPOverland trip later this week, I was about to load up my nice new $35 grease gun into the spares/fluids box when I noticed that it has been leaking up a storm in the summertime heat! Now I expected this from the cheap-o hardware store grease guns, but the not the nicer version that the auto parts store guy swore was "practically leakproof."
So, here's my question: what is a good standard-sized grease gun that pumps consistently, doesn't leak/leaks minimally, and will hold up to years of use? I'm not really concerned about price, within reason (i.e $100 is ok, $500 is not).
And is there an equivalently good compact grease gun out there? I've never seen good grease sold in compact tubes anywhere, but I'd be amenable to hand-reloading old mini-tubes with Mobil1 grease if I could find a good, relatively leak-free compact grease gun to put in the spares/fluids box.
