I'd like to post a positive review of a company based on a recent experience. I have a trip to Costa Rica coming up (tomorrow actually), and decided only this Monday that I really should bring a lens more suited to the jungle environment (something with a zoom) instead of my ultra wide walkabout lens (16-35mm). So on Monday afternoon I looked up rental companies, and found www.LensRentals.com. Their prices were very reasonable, and their time frames totally flexible. I was able to rent a 15-85mm for 12 days for $65, and then they were willing to do and expedited shipping via FedEx for $22 more, including a return shipping label. Not bad!
The online order process could not have been simpler, and when I had the option to type in a note, I said "Please leave at door" as is our custom with overnight deliveries because no one is ever home to sign for packages. Not more than ten minutes after completing the order, LensRentals.com called me to discuss that option. They preferred having someone sign it, and suggested that they ship to a local FedEx destination, which allowed me to pick it up at my convenience (which proved to be 11pm last night!). The FedEx/Kinko's called me that the package was in, and it was there waiting for me, in an excellently prepared box, with lots of padding. Bonus: The lens shipped in a custom padded lens bag from www.FStop.com. The lens itself looks brand new, no dust or scratches anywhere to be found.
